Back in 2017, our founder was looking for an English language school for their eldest child. After visiting several schools, it was clear that most of them either had big classes, inflexible programs or took a one-size-fits-all approach to teaching that didn’t take account of the individual differences between learners. Some after school language clubs even had children sitting at desks, copy-writing the whole time. Not great for someone who has just spent a whole day doing the same thing in school. Many clubs kept parents out and felt cold and unwelcoming. The answer to the problem was obvious. Start our own school.
The idea was to provide an active, engaging language learning program, with small classes, a family friendly environment and the chance to adapt the teaching to the children. Rolnicka was born.
Since then, we have grown into a facility that offers in person and online teaching to children and adults alike. Our students study a range of languages, including English, German, Italian and Spanish. We have a fully stocked resource centre with games, activities and worksheets for students of all ages.
Our teaching staff are experienced, dedicated and inventive. We offer morning English for pre-schoolers, after school clubs for all ages and themed summer camps during the holiday period. Adults can also book in person and online courses with us. We even welcome parents in to our playroom for a sit down and chat when they are dropping off and picking up their kids.
This year, we have also branched out. From 2017-24 we worked with an umbrella company to provide some of our resources and support. Now, though, with new management, including a senior leader in education from the UK, with 25 years of experience working in schools of all sorts and an experienced commercial manager ensuring that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, we are ready for bigger and better things ahead. Our class sizes will stay small, our teachers will stay brilliant, but we will develop a wider range of educational programs to suit all learners and make sure that you or your child will get the best possible chance to improve their language skills here at Rolnicka by DAR.
Try Out Our Programs
All of our language learning programs come with a ‘try it out’ option. This involves a free, twenty minute, access session where you or your child can take part in a lesson, get a sense of the way we teach, get to know the teacher and understand our methodology. We can also evaluate the best approach for the learner and make recommendations accordingly. If a particular teacher does not quite suit you or if they recommend a different aspect of our program, we offer repeat trials until you find the best fit for you or your child.
